“He who rejects change is the architect of decay. The only human institution which rejects progress is the cemetery.” ~Harold Wilson

The Cliks are the brain child of founding and only permanent member, Lucas Silveira.

In 2004 he decided to stray away from his singer/songwriter acoustic roots and move towards a more collective performance environment which better suited the new edgier and rock based material he was writing.

Craving that connection with others on stage became an overwhelming personal need and so The Cliks were created.

Having gone through numerous line up changes and as the only constant in the band, Lucas’ focus remains the same which is to be forever changing in the journey that he goes through personally and musically.

The Cliks have become a vehicle of expression for the mantra of change. If you don’t like change, than this is not the band for you. But if you love to explore and move along with an artist that accepts changes and explores every side of themselves as way to connect to a bigger purpose, then The Cliks will be right up your alley.

The Cliks have had 3 releases. The first being their indie self titled debut THE CLIKS (2004), followed by their first major label release on Warner Music Canada and Tommy Boy in the US, SNAKEHOUSE (2006) to their follow up DIRTY KING (2009).

After the release of SNAKEHOUSE, they garnered much critical acclaim from mainstream media (Associated Press, Chicago Tribune, New York Times,) and appeared on Craig Ferguson’s Late Late Show as well as MTV’s TRL and subsequently had two number 1 hits (Oh Yeah, Complicated) on MTV LOGO’s New Now Next program which later garnered them the “Artist On The Brink” award in 2008.

They also garnered great praise from iconic artists such as Cyndi Lauper, The Cult’s Ian Astbury and comedian Margaret Cho.

This led to being asked by both Lauper and Astbury to partake in tours. The Cliks toured with the True Color tour in 2007/2008 and with The Cult 2007/2008. They later joined the infamous New York Dolls in 2009 to promote the release of DIRTY KING.

Since the release of DIRTY KING, Lucas’ uncompromising attitude that when one falls, one must rise to the occasion has been the key to the staying power of this now indie artist.

Reinvention is the mother of necessity and with Lucas and The Cliks, it just seems to be the nature of the beast.

Lucas has just released his first solo effort MOCKINGBIRD (2011-independent) and has continued to tour and perform with The Cliks.

Lucas is currently writing for the next LP release from The Cliks, which is being planned for release late 2011 and you can be assured that it will be nothing like anything you’ve ever heard before.

Embrace change….It’s the only way to move forward.
